How do I return a book?

Answer

Colchester: Books can be returned through the book returns chute opposite the Helpdesk on the ground floor. Place the books into the chute one at a time. There is also a returns chute outside on the Silberrad side of the building.

Inter Library Loans should be returned to the Helpdesk.

Southend: You can use the Self-Service machines on the ground and 1st floors of the Forum library. Press "Return Books" then place your books in the opening. Wait until you can see all your books listed on the screen, then press finish. You will then be asked to put the books on the trolley or in the box. Or you can hand the book in to the reception desk on the ground floor of the Forum.

Loughton: Books can be returned in the drop box on the landing outside the library or at the self-service kiosk inside the library opposite the helpdesk. Please do not tap your ID card when you return a book at the kiosk. We empty the drop box regularly throughout the day and check any book left in it as soon as we take it out. Please note that there may be times when staff may not be on site, in which case it may take a little longer for your books to come off your account.        .
