Q. When is the library open?

Colchester: The library is open 24/7 for the majority of the year. Except during University closures at Christmas and Easter and during the summer vacation when we open 8am-8pm. During 24/7 opening you will need your student card to access the library between midnight and 8am. The Library Reading Room and the Postgraduate Study Room are open 24/7 all year round.

Southend:The library is open 24/7. Access to The Forum after public library opening hours, are via the SMAC doors at the North end of the building. Access to the books on the 1st floor is via the North Staircase/Lift. Follow the link below for information about using the SMAC doors.

The public library is open 8am - 7pm Monday - Friday. 8am- 5pm on Saturday. 11am - 4pm on Sunday.

Loughton: The library is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 11 pm, and Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Please note that on weekdays the helpdesk is staffed from 8 am to 9.30 pm.
