Q. How do I access the book I need during COVID-19 closure?
Whilst our library buildings are closed there are a number of options available to you for finding the book you need.
Search the Library’s online collections to see whether we have the relevant book as an ebook (if it’s a book from a reading list, check your reading list for links to online versions).
If we don’t currently have the book as an ebook, we may be able to buy it in online format. To pursue this option, fill in a purchase suggestion. We will get back to you within 2 working days to let you know whether we can get it. If we can, it normally takes a week to make it available and we will notify you once we have it.
If you just need a chapter, we may be able to get it via document delivery from another library (whilst the British Library are still operating a service). To pursue this option, fill in an interlibrary loan request for a chapter. We will get back to you within 3-4 working days to let you know whether we can get it. If we can, it normally takes at least a week to make it available and it will be sent to you as a link/attachment.

If the original reading suggestion came from your lecturer, you may want to go back to them and ask them to suggest alternative texts. The Library’s reading list team can help support and advise lecturers about what is available online.
