For commuting students, be able to request a book when there are books available on the shelf. When I am at home there may be books on the shelf, but by the time I get to the library, all the books are gone.

Currently, students are unable to request a copy of a book at their 'home' library if it is available on the shelf - the individual would be expected to come and collect the item from the shelf themselves.
All our book stock has limited availability and our services are in place to ensure as many people as possible can view the items they require. Sadly we would not have enough staff time or shelf space to reserve items for all commuting students due to the volume of people and requests.
Our library staff would be happy to advise whether there is an electronic version available which would be accessible from home, or if not, a purchase suggestion could be made.
