The laptops can be used exactly the same way as the other computers on campus and the same IT regulations apply (link below). 

Any software that you need that is not already on the laptop can be added from the Software hub (link below).

If you are planning to use a laptop for an online exam, please check with your department first as some exams require spellcheck and other features to be switched off during the exam which is not possible on laptop loans.
