How do I print in the library?

Answer

Please see the IT Printing for Students page for information on fair usage and print balances.

Colchester: You can print from any of the PCs in the library. Pages to be printed should be sent to managed print, where they will be held in a queue for 8 hours. You can then release them by tapping in to any of the printers in the library with your student card or Essex login, select the "secure print/scan" button, highlight the item to be printed, then select print + delete to release the print job. To print from a USB plug the USB into a PC and follow the steps above.

You can print from a mobile device, by sending an attachment from your Essex email account to mobileprinting@essex.ac.uk. This will be converted into a pdf and can be released from the print queue by tapping in to any of the printers in the library.

Printing is free for students and staff, but please see IT's page on fair usage and print balances.

Southend: You can print on the 2nd floor of The Forum. There are 3 printers. 2 printers can be found in the Open Study Space at the north end of the building. 1 printer can be found by the height adjustable desks to your left as you enter the Info Point. These are free for students to use (please see IT's page on fair usage and print balances).

The printers and scanners on the 1st floor of The Forum belong to the Public Library and you pay for this service.

Loughton: We have 2 printers in the library which can be accessed via the computers and also wirelessly from your personal devices. These are free for students to use (please see IT's page on fair usage and print balances).
