The best way to access e-resources is to search for the resource on the library website and then log in from there. This means that you will take advantage of the library's subscription.

If you go directly to the resource you will need to look for the "Institutional" or "Academic " log in link. Here, you will be asked to enter your full university account details ( Essex Username and Password.)  Please be aware that we do not always subscribe to the whole content on some databases

As a member of the University of Essex, you also have access to the 4 LibKey apps. These are LibKey Discovery, Link, Nomad, and .io Each of these apps will help you in finding and accessing resources. Information on how to download and use them can be found on our LibKey page.
