How do I find and download my library reading history?

Answer

If you are based at Colchester or Loughton, you can see your reading history via your personal library account.

You can do this on any main library page by going to My Account in the top navigation, selecting you campus, and then entering in your Essex details.

Once you've logged in, you will be able to see what you currently have checked out. You can see what you have previously borrowed by clicking on the Reading History link.

This page will show you all of the physical items you have checked out through your time at the university, including the date you borrowed it.

You also have a few options with what you can do with your Reading History: Delete Marked, Delete All, Export Reading History, Opt Out.

To download you reading history, click Export Reading History. Here you will be given options on its format and how it is exported.

Export Reading History OptionsThe option on the left determines what information and format the information is displayed in.

The option on the right determines how the file is saved:

  • E-mail will send it to whichever email address is entered (you can also change the subject of the email)
  • Screen will display the entire selection within the browser
  • Local disk will save the file directly to your device

Note: as we move to a new library search and catalogue, your reading history will no longer be available to you once we have transitioned. If you want to keep it, you will need to export it in one of these ways.
