Can I book a study space at Southend / Available study spaces at Southend.

Answer

There are a variety of different study spaces available in The Learning Hub (second floor) for collaborative work and for quiet study. You do not need to book any of these spaces in advance and they are available on a 'first come-first served' basis. Available spaces include:

  • An open study area with PCs, desks and sofas where students can work individually or together (eating and talking is allowed here).
  • A quiet study area with individual, partitioned desks where students can work without distraction (talking is not allowed here).
  • 2 small meeting rooms with a desk and seating for up to 3 students.
  • 6 group study pods, each with an overhead projector, white board and seating for up to 6 students (whilst these are individually partitioned off, they are not enclosed rooms).
  • 3 media rooms with a computer and space for 2-3 students
  • Group study booths and tables in the Info Point area
  • The Share Space (medium - large teaching room which can be used freely by students when teaching is not in progress).
  • The Innovation Space (medium - large teaching room which can be used freely by students when teaching is not in progress).
  • The Skills space (small - medium teaching room which can be used freely by students when teaching is not in progress).
