We charge fines for the following:

- Overdue recalls - £2.50 a day

- Lost books - Replacement costs can vary, the default charge is £31 (£25 replacement + £6 admin). Replacement costs are charged when a book has remained overdue for a month. They will show on the User's account with a status of 'Lost'. 

- Overdue laptops - £1 per hour

Fines are not charged for overdue books unless they were requested by another user.

Southend: Late books will be fined at 30p per day up to a maximum of £12.30 per item. For long, over-due loans, the council may charge an additional, administrative fee of £3.60. Late laptop returns are charged at £1 per hour they are overdue up to a maximum or £25.00.
