When a book you have on loan is recalled from you, this is because another person needs access to it. This is a fairer way of circulating our stock to give access to all our users. The person who has already had access to the book is asked to return it, so that someone else can also benefit.

We cannot extend or renew recalled items because someone else needs it. It is a way of getting a book returned more quickly to satisfy the request. If you still need the book, you can place your own request and it will come back to you in due course.
