Thank you for your suggestion of extending the Paternoster operating times. 

We work closely with our Estates and Health and Safety colleagues to ensure safe use of our Paternoster. For the Paternoster to operate we have to have a minimum number of trained library staff who are needed in the building during its use, to make sure we can promptly address any stoppages or give assistance where needed. We also have the maintenance team on site to respond to any stoppages that library staff are unable to restart. For this reason the operating times need to be 10 - 4.30 Monday to Friday to help us manage this service.
