Colchester Albert Sloman library

• As an alumnus, you would be able to borrow up to 5 books from the Main Collection. These items are subject to recall (when requested by other members).
• Books that are in the Student Collection on floor 1 are not available to alumni due to them being prioritised for current students, as they are on reading lists.
• You are also able to have walk-in access to a limited selection of e-resources, available on specific PCs in the library. Please see the FAQ in the links below for more information.
• The Alumni office also offer remote access to e-resources through JSTOR.

To access these services, please ensure you have applied and received your Alumni card through the Alumni website.https://www.essex.ac.uk/alumni

Once you have your card, please bring this along with proof of address and photo ID to sign up for library alumni membership at our Helpdesk.

Alumni accounts can be set up between 8am-8pm on weekdays and 12pm-8pm on weekends. Please visit us during these times.
 

Southend Forum library
 

Reference access to books is available. Alumni are permitted to access a limited selection of e-resources on public library PCs on the first floor. To access e-resources, you will need to ask the staff on the Ground Floor to see the University Librarian. We will then ask you to fill in a form. You can then access the databases using the public library computers on the 1st floor of The Forum.
 

Loughton Library
 

Alumni are able to borrow up to 5 books from the Loughton library. Please note we can only offer alumni access during times the helpdesk is staffed. You can check these hours on our opening times page. 

The Alumni office offers access to e-resources through JSTOR.
