Q. I am a SCONUL student from another university. What do I need to join and what access do I get?

Answer

Colchester

To join us as a SCONUL Access student, you will need to bring your SCONUL Access confirmation, home university ID card, proof of address and photo ID e.g. driving licence.

If you are a band A, B or C, once signed up you will be able to borrow up to 5 items from our main collection. If you have band R (Reference) then you will be able to use the material on the shelf but will not be able to borrow.

You can connect to Wifi using Eduroam on your own device. We also offer 'Walk in' access to a selection of e-resources which are available on particular PCs in the library. Please ask staff at the helpdesk for detail.

Southend Campus

Unfortunately, we are not able to give SCONUL access at Southend. Books at Southend are available to be viewed by the general public and can be used on a reference only basis.

Loughton

SCONUL users are permitted walk in access to the Loughton library but are not permitted to borrow books.
